Hip To Be Square

A few weeks ago I started seeing posts about an 80's Themed Airbnb in Winston-Salem North Carolina. This is just about an hour away from Charlotte. At first glance we thought it was cool but also had the feeling it was just a clever gimmick. Then I did some more research and discovered it is more like a museum. Featuring an arcade with over 100 arcade games from the 1970s to 1985.

Jeff ended up going with his guy friends for a dude weekend. He said he really did not know what to expect and left blown away. He said every little detail was so thought out. The weekend was so memorable & just such a cool way to spend time with his friends.

You get three private hours in the arcade with your stay & the private collection of games is amazing.

In your room there is a VHS player with about 100 tapes to pick from to watch. They decided to watch Airplane & said it was so hard to decide because they really only had time to watch one film. In your room you also will have the option of almost every old school gaming system to play and with so many games to pick from. I even felt nostalgic when I saw the snow cone up from the circus on the night stand. I had that same cup when I went with my grandparents in the 80's & that was the first time I had ever had a rainbow snow cone.

We plan on going back to stay here together one weekend. I grew up in the 80's with a Nintendo spending many hours playing Mario & Zelda. Then in the 90's I had a Super Nintendo & loved everything from Donkey Kong Country, the really bad Olympic game and cannot forget spending hours playing the Disney Aladdin game. This place is just so well done & makes for a one-of-a-kind overnight stay.
